A heads up…this article is going to be full of some tough love and with good reason.

I am fed up with good people being conned out of their hard-earned money by individuals and
companies that claim to have an easy way for you to lose weight, normally by you taking:

some sort of “magic pill” – THERE IS NO SUCH THING!

meal replacement shakes – JUST EAT FOOD!

undergoing a cleanse/detox – WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR LIVER DOES?

drinking skinny coffee – REALLY?!

fat loss injections – THERE AREN’T ENOUGH FACEPLANT EMOJIS FOR THIS ONE

or counting your food via “syns” – DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED

NEWS FLASH…IT IS BULLSHIT

Yes it may not be a popular thing to take a hard line with, but I don’t really care.

What I do care about is teaching people – YOU – that they don’t need to do anything like the above
in order to lose weight.

“Oh!” I hear some of you say, “But I lost weight doing an aloe vera cleanse!”

Of course you did.

You effectively starved your body for 9 bloody days and lost mostly water, and probably more
muscle than fat. I bet you didn’t keep that weight off either, did you?

And that’s why you do that cleanse again. And again. And again.

And each time you do, you give that company more and more of your money.

Why?

Because in the time you have been on their “programme” they’ve taught you nothing about losing
weight, nutrition or exercise. Why would they? It isn’t in their interests for you to lose weight and
maintain it.

Losing weight is actually very simple

The companies involved in these schemes/cons don’t want you to know that, because as soon as
you do, they start to lose money.

“But you’re a personal trainer – losing weight is your business too”.

You’re damn right it is, but the difference is I want to see my clients get results and maintain them
long after they’ve hit their goal. You want to know how I count myself as being successful?

Well I’ll tell you.

I count myself as being successful if my clients leave me (really). Why?

Because it means I’ve done my job well and taught them what they need to know to lose weight
and to maintain it. They don’t need me anymore – they’ve flown the nest! They can always contact
me for support, but they have all the tools they need to carry on by themselves.

This isn’t just me saying it, you can check out my testimonials and see what they say about me too.

SO WHAT NEXT?

If you’re reading this and have done any of the fads/diets I’ve mentioned, please don’t feel bad
about falling into these traps – they have clever marketing which is designed to tap into your
insecurities and get you to spend money with them.

Let me put this another way…

…do you really think your choice of coffee is what is making you fat, or making it difficult
for you to lose weight?

Of course not. But that’s what they want you to feel is the problem.

Question: what can you do to simplify losing weight?

Answer: don’t overcomplicate it

make sure you are in a calorie deficit (consume less calories than you burn)

eat from a good range of whole foods (i.e. not processed)

make sure you get enough protein

stick to the 80/20 rule (restrictive diets don’t work!)

exercise more – track your steps and find something you enjoy doing!

It really is that easy to start seeing a difference.

And it’s this simple approach I take with my clients, whether in my PT Membership, my 8 Week
Wedding Dress Transformation, or my One to One Coaching.

No fads. No restrictions or completely cutting out food groups. No “skinny”coffees or Herbashite
(that’s Herbalife if you aren’t familiar with it).

Carry on eating the foods you enjoy. Eat cake. Have a bloody glass of wine in the evening! AND
STILL LOSE WEIGHT.
